Batman-2 is a solar power plant with storage: rather than only feeding the electricity it generates into the grid, it stores it in batteries and delivers it at the hours when it is needed. The project is being developed on an area of approximately 77.7 hectares in the Çayüstü (Beda) neighbourhood of Batman's Merkez district.
The site will use fixed-tilt bifacial monocrystalline solar modules and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, and the plant will be connected to the Batman-1 transformer substation via an energy transmission line of approximately 11 km. The project is carried out in line with the IFC Performance Standards and the environmental and social requirements of the Development and Investment Bank of Türkiye (TKYB).
